HOLIDAY HOUSE EXTENSION  |  PRINSENHOF |  OUDDORP

This small holiday house extension was designed to continue the aesthetic language of the main building while addressing the owner's request for an additional bedroom to accommodate his growing family.

The volume itself is straightforward - a rectangular box raised to a 3m gutter height to meet local planning regulations, clad in black-tinted, Douglas-fir lap siding, traditionally referred to as 'potdeksel'. A concealed gutter detail was integrated as part of the flat roof design in order to preserve the clean aesthetic of the overall volume. The set of glazed double doors opening towards the back garden, allows guests to step outside and enjoy a direct connection to the outdoors.
